Taking a home loan is probably the biggest financial commitment made by a household in India. A small difference in the interest rate can increase your cost of the home significantly over the loan period. We, at Paisabazaar Marketplace, have successfully assisted our home loan customers in choosing the most affordable home loan offer to build or buy their dream home.
At Paisabazaar Marketplace, lenders offer competitive home loan interest rates to applicants based on their credit profile. These rates can be floating-type, fixed or hybrid (a combination of fixed and floating-type rates).
Floating-type rates are linked to an external benchmark, usually the RBI repo rate, and when the repo rate changes, these floating-type interest rates may change, impacting the EMI or tenure. The table below shows starting rates from Paisabazaar's lending partners.
| Lender | Interest Rate (p.a.) | Max Tenure | Processing Fee |

| SBI Bank Home Loan | 7.25% – 8.55% | 30 yrs | Up to ₹18,214 |

Lenders typically consider two factors while deciding on the loan amount against your salary - first, you can be eligible for 50 to 60 times your net monthly salary and second, your total EMIs should be within 50–60% of your net monthly income.
The lower amount among the two scenarios is usually considered as the loan amount. The exact consideration varies from one lender to another where banks are mostly stricter and HFCs can be lenient in approving a higher amount.

A home loan EMI calculator enables you to understand the EMI, interest and total loan cost that would be incurred against entered details. You can use various combinations to arrive at an optimum loan amount and tenure that would cost less without impacting your cash flow and other life goals.
EMI formula: EMI = P × r × (1 + r)ⁿ ÷ [(1 + r)ⁿ – 1], where P = principal, r = monthly interest rate (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n = tenure in months.
