How is MICR code useful?
MICR stands for magnetic ink cheque recognition. It is basically used to by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for cheque clearances. It is a nine digit code that is found on the bottom of the cheque. It prevents forgery and error. If a MICR code reader doesn’t recognize the code, the cheque won’t be cleared.

NEFT stands for national electronic fund transfer and RTGS stands for real time gross settlement. Under NEFT fund transfers happen with a time lag while in case of RTGS the fund transfer happens instantly.
